Counseling Intern
Devu is a graduate student at Wake Forest University pursuing the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She believes in building strong therapeutic connections with clients in order to support them emotionally and create self awareness through an empathetic lens. Devu uses evidence based practices that focuses on person centered approaches and mindfulness to create a space that is tailored for each client. Her background in meditation, yoga, and South Asian dance gives avenue to the many mindfulness techniques she uses. She is looking to help clients in various stages of life and is passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, women, and the immigrant/first-generation population.
Devu’s goals are to give clients a nonjudgmental environment where they are able to discover more about themselves and better their quality of life. She also emphasizes cultural sensitivity in her practice to ensure clients of all backgrounds feel welcome.
Devu has grown up in the Northern VA area and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Psychology B.S degree. Devu is excited to be back in her home town and looks forward to meeting clients in person or virtually.
