Counseling Intern
Jon works with adults, teens, and couples navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, life transitions, relationship stress, and difficulty managing day-to-day demands. He brings personal insight to working with military families, having navigated the unique stressors of military life himself as a military spouse, including frequent relocation, deployment-related stress, and building community in unfamiliar places. Jon also welcomes LGBTQIA+ clients and is committed to providing an affirming, judgment-free space for individuals to explore identity, relationships, and personal growth.
Jon draws from multiple therapeutic modalities, tailoring his approach to each client’s individual needs and goals. His work is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapy, meaning he meets each client where they are, without judgment, and trusts that clients themselves are the experts on their own lives. He believes therapy works best when clients leave each session with something tangible: a new coping skill, a clearer way of thinking through a problem, or a specific step toward a goal they’ve set for themselves. Jon works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns that may be holding them back, and helps them develop realistic strategies for change, whether that’s managing anxious thoughts, improving communication in relationships, or building healthier daily habits. He is committed to creating a space where clients feel supported and equipped to make meaningful progress toward the life they want.
