Counseling Intern
Maggie values collaborating with clients to understand the patterns that keep them stuck, while also developing practical tools to manage the distress they’re experiencing in the present moment. She draws from person-centered and experiential approaches, with particular interests in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the role of shame and self-compassion in our relationship with ourselves. She believes therapy should be a space where you can slow down, be honest about what you’re experiencing, and feel heard without judgment. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, she works to meet each client where they are and create space for curiosity, self-understanding, and growth.
Maggie received her Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs from George Mason University. She spent several years working in Human Resources, supporting employees on international work assignments, before pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University. Her own experience as a client helped her discover her passion for counseling. In her personal life, Maggie loves going to concerts with friends, crafting, reading, playing video games, and her endlessly curious cat, Agatha Christie.
Cultural humility is an important part of Maggie’s practice. She values understanding the identities, cultures, and experiences that shape each person’s perspective and is committed to approaching every client with openness and respect. Maggie works with individuals 18+ via telehealth or in-person.
